Established in 2014, Northport began as a shared studio for freelancers and evolved into a collaborative production company. We are six screen creatives, led by director Tom Duncan, who value trust and hold ourselves to the highest quality standard.

We like to be there from the start with our clients. We’re open to all but selective in finding the right fit. Pick up the phone or scribble an email and we’ll work with you on ideas and treatments; shaping a project into something achievable for your budget. If you’re not sure how much you need, we can guide you as to what things cost. If it works, we shake on it. Then we manage production with a creative flair underpinned by rapport and stamina. The outcome is quality screen content which exceeds expectations and carries your story further.

Tom Duncan

Tom founded Northport Studio in 2014 as a co-working and creative studio space, what emerged was a collaborative production company - six freelancers building their businesses within the Northport stable. Tom is a joyful and relentless director, hungrily absorbing briefs to match story with key production elements. A direct and open project leader, he finds production value you didn’t know was there and pushes his team to places they didn’t know they could reach.

Dianne Stevenson

Dianne’s background is in music production. Her IMDb page makes for interesting reading with credits on Hollywood blockbusters (Dredd), smash hit TV series (The Grand Tour) and cult games (Dawn of War). Her role at the studio has grown beyond music as she project manages all of our active briefs, planning shoots, scheduling filmmakers and designers, liaising with clients and managing budgets. Dianne’s years at the cutting edge of industry influence her close attention to detail as a producer, setting an exacting quality benchmark for our team.

Ryan Daglish

Ryan has been shooting alongside studio founder Tom since 2015. The undisputed gear-hound of the studio, he knows every camera we shoot on inside and out. He studied Film and TV at Aberdeen College and is an avid drone operator. With a steady pair of hands and the creative eye to match, he has led the studio camera team on projects for Chivas, Visit Cairngorms and Glasgow School of Art.

Daniel Stewart

Daniel is our lead creative designer, specialising in animation and identity. His punchy intro sequences and bright and lively 3D work have graced Channel 4 and ITV while closer to home his isometric identity for Forres Creative Place helped them to a £100,000 award from Creative Scotland. His design work is strongly influenced by Timothy J Reynolds; Daniel’s characterised 3D landscapes and sequences have a playful, almost Pixar-like quality to them. He is no stranger to 2D design with several album covers, websites, poster campaigns and print identities under his belt.

Adam Cook

An encyclopaedia of film knowledge, Adam is a dedicated and attuned writer who crafts story across our proposals, storyboards and editing. Adam is a versatile writer, bringing a wit and guile to both factual and creative writing and has completed international commissions and broadcast campaigns for Ijsfontein, Moray Speyside and Solid White Studio.

Kayleigh Innes

Kayleigh is the newest member of the studio and the only one to specialise in still photography. Graduating from Stirling in 2016, she is experienced in location and studio portraiture and is also available for behind-the-scenes and event coverage. Inspired by her travels in Japan, she shoots with a calm curiosity aiming for a natural, contemporary feel.
